WAYFINDING

I was searching about Wayfinding and I find out a company which creates contemporary solutions while using technology. This company is called Fd2.
Fd2 was formed in 1985 as Fuller Dyal & Stamper and for more than 20 years the firm's talented, designers, writers, architects and project managers has been helping organization solve complex wayfinding challenges.

Leading a wayfinding revolution: Integrated Wayfinding Solutions from fd2s are changing the way organizations think about wayfinding. Simplifying complex environments by looking beyond signage to consider the full range of user touchpoints. And giving facilities managers technology tools to effectively manage and maintain their entire wayfinding system.

Interactive Wayfinding: Using the Internet and other self-service technology to deliver customized wayfinding information on demand.

Once patients and visitors arrive at the facility, interactive elements such as touch-screen kiosks can provide customized, printable directions and maps to specific destinations. And when tied to existing databases, can even allow patients to retrieve details about current and future appointments.

Technology

Blueline Wayfinding Management System: The Blueline Wayfinding Management System is a centralized application for end-to-end management of all the components of a wayfinding system, including signage of course, but also printed maps, web sites, and information kiosks as appropriate.

Wayfinding Touch Screens and Kiosks: Driven by Blueline or an administrative utility, these onsite amenities provide the public with point-to-point directions based on the logic of the wayfinding system.

Wayfinding Web Sites: Free mapping web sites like Google or Yahoo Maps can be useful tools, but they stop at the front door of your institution. Our customized systems can provide visitors with all of the information they need to reach their final destination, including parking recommendations and interior direction sets.

These informations are all about interactive wayfinding, they are usefull and high technolocigal. All these things make people's life easier. I mean, who are related with technology use these things and it is easy for them but if you are not using technology too much, it is a real pain for you. For some people it is easier to use a printed map or some pictograms which shows directions. This is the only negative point that I can say.

For some people it is easier to check the signs instead of using technology..

Here are some of my work for library and arts floor for Beykent university..
